President Buu Nygren invites the public to the People’s Third State of the Navajo Nation on Jan. 13, 2026, at Shiprock High School. The address will highlight 2025 accomplishments, 2026 priorities, and provide direct access to Navajo Nation services.

Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren met advocates and legal representatives to address gaps in public safety, improve coordination among agencies, streamline funding access, and advance stronger, faster responses for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives.

President Buu Nygren met with NTUA and Lion Point Capital to advance a long-term strategy for clean energy, manufacturing, and a modern data center hub in the San Juan region, supporting jobs, infrastructure, and future-focused economic growth for the Navajo Nation.

On Dec. 4, President Buu Nygren met with partners and local leaders to move Shiprock economic development forward, discussing new business leases, a potential hotel, tourism features, and utility upgrades to create jobs and keep dollars in Navajo communities.

The Special Division of the Window Rock District Court dismissed an ethics complaint against Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren, ruling it lacks jurisdiction under Navajo Nation law after reviewing applicable statutes.

Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren joined families on Dec. 9 for a Christmas tree lighting at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Window Rock, with a parade, toys, winter jackets, and a message of generosity and togetherness.

At Diné College’s Fall Commencement, President Buu Nygren celebrated 100 graduates, highlighting perseverance, family support, and the responsibility graduates carry to lead with purpose and serve their communities.

On Dec. 13, President Buu Nygren signed the FY2026 funding resolution, approving $7.83M while using line-item vetoes to ensure transparency, equity, and cost-effective funding for Navajo Nation government operations.
