Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren highlighted continued progress on the 5.7-mile N6461/N6460 road improvement project near Dennehotso, which is now 90 percent complete under a $19.8 million investment.
The project includes construction of a bridge, riprap installation, updated signage, and additional safety improvements designed to strengthen long-term roadway access and reliability for the community.
Although flooding in October 2025 caused erosion and damage to portions of the project area, temporary repairs are underway, with additional drainage and mitigation work planned for Spring 2026. The project reflects the administration’s broader commitment to advancing infrastructure that supports safer travel, stronger community connections, and long-term economic opportunity across the Navajo Nation.
“Our top priority is investing in business development, creating sustainable jobs, and strengthening the workforce,” said President Nygren. “With continued work to improve infrastructure, roads, and essential utility access across the Navajo Nation, we are building a stronger foundation for long-term growth and opportunity.”
