TOOH HALTSOOI— Navajo Nation President Nygren joined community members Wednesday evening for the Shiprock Service Unit’s Just Move It event in Tooh Haltsooi (Sheep Springs, NM), where families, runners, walkers, elders, and youth gathered for an evening centered around health, fitness, and community wellness.

The event marked President Nygren’s second Just Move It participation of the year and continued his support for programs that encourage healthy living across the Navajo Nation. Participants of all ages filled the route throughout the evening, creating a positive atmosphere full of encouragement, energy, and smiles.

President Nygren spent time visiting with community members and healthcare workers while also stopping by informational booths offering wellness resources and screenings. The Navajo Department of Health provided blood pressure checks, blood sugar screenings, vitals, and other important health information for participants. President Nygren also received a blood pressure screening during the event and thanked healthcare staff and volunteers for their continued outreach efforts.

“There’s no greater joy than being out in the community with our people and seeing families come together like this,” said President Nygren. “It’s inspiring to see people of all ages out walking, running, smiling, and supporting one another while prioritizing their health.”

The Just Move It series will continue throughout the summer at communities and healthcare facilities across the Navajo Nation. President Nygren encourages families and community members to participate in at least one event this year and enjoy the fun and positive experience of walking, running, and staying active together.
