The Navajo Nation Pro Rodeo is proud to dedicate this weekend to honoring those who have served our country, with each day recognizing a different group of heroes.

“Our Navajo veterans embody the warrior spirit that has guided our people for generations. This weekend, we honor their sacrifice, their courage, and their service to both the Navajo Nation and the United States. I invite everyone to come out to the rodeo, stand with our veterans, and celebrate the heroes who have given so much for all of us,” said President Nygren.

Today kicks off the tribute with Women Veterans Day. Tonight, an all-women veteran color guard will post the colors on horseback, riding in proud formation to open the rodeo in a powerful display of service and tradition.

The honors continue Saturday with Purple Heart Recipient Day, recognizing those wounded in combat. Sunday concludes the weekend with Gold Star Family Day, paying tribute to the families of service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Navajo people hold a deep and enduring respect for our veterans. Military service is woven into the fabric of Diné life, and our veterans carry forward a sacred tradition of protecting family, land, and people.

Join us at the Navajo Nation Pro Rodeo as we honor our veterans in true Navajo tradition.
