In front of a packed Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the Page Sand Devils and the Window Rock Lady Scouts delivered a 3A State Championship battle that truly could have gone either way. From the opening tip to the final buzzer, it was intense, physical, and defined by defense.
Window Rock came out strong, setting the tone early with aggressive drives and relentless pressure. The opening quarter was a grind, with both teams contesting every shot and battling on the boards. At the end of the first quarter, Window Rock held a narrow 6–5 lead — a clear sign this would be a defensive showdown.
The second quarter brought momentum swings on both sides. Page found rhythm and responded with poise, while Window Rock continued to execute and defend at a high level. Every run was answered. Every basket was earned. At halftime, the score stood tied 16–16, reflecting just how evenly matched these teams were.
The third quarter continued the back-and-forth intensity. Big stops, timely shots, and clutch free throws kept the game balanced. Neither team was able to create separation, and the contest entered the final quarter tied 26–26.
The fourth quarter was championship basketball at its finest. The crowd was on its feet. Players dove for loose balls, fought for rebounds, and stayed composed under pressure. It remained a one-possession game deep into the final minutes, with every play carrying weight.
In the end, the Page Sand Devils secured the victory 32–30, claiming the 3A State Championship.
