From supporting elders and students to improving accessibility and fighting for justice, the Navajo Nation continues making meaningful investments in services that directly impact Diné families and communities.
Under President Buu Nygren’s leadership, $191 million in funding was approved for senior centers to strengthen care and support for elders across the Navajo Nation. More than 49,000 food boxes were also distributed across all 110 chapters through partnerships with tribal enterprises, helping provide relief and assistance to families in need.
Accessibility construction projects were completed across various tribal buildings to improve access and better serve community members. Student financial aid funding was also doubled to $7 million annually, helping more Navajo students pursue higher education and future opportunities.
President Nygren also fought for the historic reauthorization of the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA), continuing advocacy for uranium workers, downwinders, and families affected by radiation exposure.
These efforts reflect an ongoing commitment to strengthening services, supporting families, and creating opportunities for future generations across the Navajo Nation.
