WINDOW ROCK — Navajo Nation President Nygren has approved the amended and restated Host Site Agreement with BCE Construction, advancing plans for a new electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure project in Teec Nos Pos, Arizona.
The agreement allows for the installation of EV charging stations at the Sinclair Gas Station and Mexican Water Trading Post site, helping expand access to modern transportation infrastructure within the Navajo Nation.
The project was presented by the Navajo Nation Division of Transportation (Navajo DOT), which requested approval of the agreement to move forward with development at the proposed host site. The initiative supports ongoing efforts to improve transportation services and accommodate the growing use of electric vehicles across the region.
President Nygren emphasized the importance of investing in infrastructure that prepares Navajo communities for future transportation needs while creating opportunities for economic growth and traveler services along key transportation corridors.
Once completed, the EV charging station will provide residents and visitors with greater access to charging resources in the northeastern portion of the Navajo Nation, supporting long-term transportation modernization and connectivity.
