August 22–24, 2025
Among the green juniper, piñon, and pine, I was honored to join Vice President Richelle Montoya, our Ramah Navajo relatives, and our neighbors from Zuni Pueblo for the 30th Annual Ramah Navajo Fair and Parade. Families from Pine Hill, Ramah, and surrounding communities turned out, and the Navajo Nation Band and Zuni Pueblo Band filled the morning with music and celebration.
This parade season has been enlightening—it shows the strength of our people when we come together to honor family, tradition, and community pride across the Navajo Nation. I want to thank my team for helping organize this celebration and for making the Nygren–Montoya Administration visible in our far Eastern Navajo Agency. I also recognize Eastern Agency Representatives Shar Soce-Brown and Rashaan Ramone for serving as our direct government relations and for their dedication to our communities.
The Ramah Navajo Fair is one of the biggest events of the year. Over three days, families will gather for rodeo action, livestock shows, traditional dances, and pageants that honor the leadership of our young women. Community favorites like the frybread contest, basketball tournaments, and mud bogging will return, alongside new attractions such as the first-ever chainsaw contest. Vendors, artisans, and food stands will fill the fairgrounds, while elders and youth are honored through festivals, contests, and ceremonies that keep our culture strong.
To everyone returning home, first-time visitors, and longtime friends—you are all welcome here. Thank you to the coordinators, committees, volunteers, sponsors, and leaders who made this celebration possible.
I am proud to stand with Vice President Montoya and the Ramah Navajo community as we celebrate 30 years of culture, strength, and unity!
– Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren
