Yesterday was another honorary graduation at Navajo Technical University (NTU) and I had the opportunity to speak to our graduates who received diplomas, certificates, associate degrees, bachelor degrees, master degrees and honorary doctorate degrees.

The NTU Wellness Center was filled from the floor to the stands on both lower and upper levels of family, friends, graduates and faculty. Celebrating over 130 graduates who received their accredited degrees and recognition.

Through hard work and perseverance, our Navajo graduates will continue to serve our families, communities and the Nation by applying the skills they learned throughout their academic journey at NTU.

Some of them will be pursuing welding, mathematics, automotive, the different sciences, early childhood education and culinary arts.

I shared a few individual highlights of some the graduates who have excelled in their studies and what they have planned next. These stories are examples of the possibilities that our Navajo students can use to achieve greatness.

Additionally, I also had the honor of presenting the doctoral cap for two of our honorary doctorate students. These students are shaping our communities by providing education and inspiration for students to continue pursuing higher education.

With this warm invitation, it makes me proud seeing many of our Navajo people succeed and stand with pride as they each received their degrees. This not only shows how strong we are as Navajo people, but it shows how resilient we can be in a western society.

Again, congratulations Class of 2025! May the holy people guide you in your next step of life.

Go Skyhawks!
