NAVAJO NATION — Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren partnered with Wells Fargo and the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) to visit schools across the Navajo Nation and promote financial literacy, helping equip students with practical life skills for their futures.

During the visits, students participated in the AISES Adventure Financial Literacy program, an interactive simulation that teaches essential skills such as budgeting, money management, and responsible financial decision-making.

Through hands-on learning, students gained real-world experience in financial planning, preparing them for life after high school—whether they pursue college, vocational training, or enter the workforce.

“Education must prepare our youth for real life and the futures they pursue,” President Nygren said. “Financial literacy empowers our young people to be self-sufficient, confident, and prepared for adulthood. By investing in these skills today, we are building stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger Navajo Nation.”

The initiative also included community engagement at several high school basketball games, creating opportunities to connect with students and families about the importance of financial education in Chinle (vs. Monument Valley), Page (vs. Monument Valley), Kirtland (vs. Gallup), and Thoreau (vs. Tohatchi).

As part of the partnership, each participating school received a grant check, contributing to a total of $6,000 in funding to support continued implementation of the Adventure Financial Literacy program and future financial education trainings on campus.

The Office of the President and Vice President remains committed to expanding opportunities that empower Navajo youth with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
