TUBA CITY, Ariz. — On February 12, families, students, and community members filled the gym at Tuba City High School as the Tuba City Warriors faced St. Johns in the Copper Bracket Division quarterfinals, turning the evening into a showcase of community pride and postseason intensity.

From the opening tip, the matchup delivered a tightly contested first half, with both teams trading momentum and executing with discipline on both ends of the floor. Each possession carried weight as neither side gave ground.

After halftime, the Warriors elevated their play. Through disciplined defense, unselfish ball movement, and steady execution, Tuba City began to create separation and control the tempo of the game. The surge translated into a decisive second-half run, sealing a 59–43 victory and a spot in the next round.

“This is what it looks like when young people believe in each other and rise to the moment,” said President Buu Nygren. “They stayed focused, played with heart, and showed the kind of discipline and teamwork that builds leaders on and off the court.”

Beyond the final score, the night reflected the deeper impact of postseason competition — building confidence, reinforcing teamwork, and testing composure under pressure. The strong turnout from families, coaches, and supporters reinforced the role the broader community plays in student success and in lifting up the next generation.
