On behalf of the Navajo Nation, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Tuba City High School freshman Layla Curtis on being named the 3A North Region Player of the Year.
This is an extraordinary achievement, especially at such an early stage in her high school career.
Layla’s dedication, discipline, and talent on the court reflect not only her personal commitment to excellence, but also the unwavering support of her family, coaches, and community. She represents the bright future of Navajo youth, demonstrating that hard work, perseverance, and belief in oneself can open doors to great opportunities.
We are proud of Layla and look forward to watching her continue to grow as both an athlete and a leader. Her success brings pride to Tuba City and serves as inspiration for young athletes across the Navajo Nation.
