President Nygren to Host The People’s Third State of the Navajo Nation in Shiprock

Please save the date for Tuesday, January 13, 2026, as Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren invites all Diné to gather at Shiprock High School – Naat’áanii Nééz, beginning at 8:00 a.m., for The People’s Third State of the Navajo Nation Address.

This annual gathering provides an opportunity for our communities to come together, reflect on the progress made over the past year, and look ahead to the work that lies before us. President Nygren will share accomplishments from the past year and update the people on priorities for 2026, while highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen services and expand opportunities for Navajo families.

In addition, division directors and staff representing more than 20 executive branch divisions will be present to answer questions and address community concerns. Notably, the Navajo Division of Children and Family Services will be available to respond to questions related to social services; the Division of Natural Resources will be on site to address homesite lease and related matters; and Division of Community Development staff will be available to discuss housing issues, among many other services.

“This gathering is part of my commitment to bring Navajo government and services directly to the people,” said President Nygren. “Our communities deserve access, transparency, and accountability. By coming together in person, we can listen, answer questions, and work collaboratively to build a stronger future for the Navajo Nation.”

Join us in Shiprock as we honor our shared progress and continue working together to shape the future of the Navajo Nation!
