RED MESA, Utah — The 7th annual Red Mesa Wood Drive brought together community members and organizers on November 15 to deliver thousands of pounds of winter firewood to families and elders across the Utah side of the Nation.

Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren extends his sincere appreciation to Lead Organizer Alec Ferguson, the dedicated team, and members of the Office of the President staff who were on-site supporting this year’s effort. The initiative delivered an estimated 40,000 to 45,000 pounds of wood, helping households prepare for the colder months and supporting elders and vulnerable community members who rely on wood stoves as their primary source of heat.

The President thanks all who worked to cut, haul, and distribute wood throughout the Red Mesa Chapter. Their commitment reflects the spirit of service, unity, and care that strengthens communities year after year.

The Red Mesa Wood Drive continues to expand, reinforcing ties with Utah-side communities and demonstrating how grassroots leadership can deliver meaningful, direct support.
