On June 27, I proudly signed a major agreement between the Navajo Nation and Coconino County that marks a new era of partnership for our communities. This Master Intergovernmental Agreement allows us to work directly with Coconino County to repair, maintain, and improve roads that are critical to the daily lives of our people.

It’s more than just a document; it’s a long-term commitment to safer infrastructure and shared responsibility. The IGA will allow Navajo DOT and Coconino County to collaborate, identify, and distribute funds to address future specific road projects for repairs. maintenance or improvement.

Communities like Leupp, Coppermine, Tuba City, LeChee and Bodaway/Gap in Western Navajo Agency are part of Coconino County, and it is exciting to hear that this MOU will help improve the road conditions of our Navajo communities.
