TUBA CITY, Ariz. — In the spirit of K’é and giving back, Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren joined families, elders, and Tuba City Chapter leadership on November 18 to distribute hundreds of Thanksgiving meals to households in the area.
This celebration was made possible by the dedicated hands of the people who prepared every dish.
From the slow-roasted turkeys to the carefully crafted sides, this event was fueled by the hard work, generosity, and heart of volunteers who spent hours chopping, cooking, stirring, seasoning, serving, and packing meals. Their commitment ensured that elders, families and community members received warm plates filled with real comfort and care.
President Nygren emphasized that the true spirit of Thanksgiving lives in the hands of the people who make these gatherings possible. The volunteers from kitchen crews to servers and organizers showed that when a community works together, no one is left behind.
Tuba City Chapter President Myra Begay was also on hand, helping distribute meals and welcoming families throughout the event. Her presence highlighted the strong local leadership and community-driven spirit that made the day a success.
President Nygren expressed deep gratitude to every person who contributed time, energy, and compassion, whether preparing food, organizing the drive-thru line, handing meals directly to families in their vehicles, or helping keep the flow running smoothly. Their efforts transformed a holiday meal into a powerful act of service and unity.
