The Administration's Priorities

When President Nygren came into office, he had a vision for a prospering Navajo Nation. In order to make positive change for the Navajo people, he set out to focus on the following strategic priorities.

Economy

Investing in jobs, tourism, broadband, clean energy, and Navajo-owned businesses to grow a sustainable, self-reliant economy for the Navajo Nation.

Education

Nygren Administration aims to improve Navajo education, support students’ well-being, preserve culture, and expand access to higher education.

Public Safety

Strengthening public safety by expanding police, prosecuting abusers, protecting women and elders, and ensuring justice through training and legal reform.

Veterans

Improving services for Navajo veterans through better access to housing, healthcare, jobs, and benefits with a dedicated, veteran-led division in Window Rock.

Government

Empowering local chapters, improving government efficiency, protecting sovereignty, and supporting wages, land rights, and voting access.

Environment

Protecting Navajo air, water, and land by fighting climate change, ending illegal dumping, and ensuring community-led, culturally sensitive solutions.

Elderly

Improving elder care with local facilities, fair probate processes, and support for grazing and homesite rights to protect our Navajo grandmas and grandpas.

Urban Relatives

Supporting Navajos living off the Nation with housing, resources, and opportunities while connecting their skills back to strengthen the Navajo Nation.

Health & Social

Addressing addiction, mental health, domestic violence, and social challenges with treatment, support programs, and partnerships for a healthier Navajo Nation.
