On World Diabetes Day, President Nygren highlights the need for early diagnosis, prevention, and long-term support for Diné families. He urges communities to promote healthy choices, expand access to care, and empower all ages to manage diabetes with dignity.

The Navajo Nation delivered new ARPA homes to families in Thoreau and Pinedale, marking steady progress in the 1,000 Homes Initiative. With CHID, DCD, and NTUA coordinating inspections and utilities, crews and leaders continue building safe, modern housing across communities.

Nazlini opened its new $4M senior center, celebrating years of collaboration to honor local elders. The 3,915-sq-ft facility expands meals, wellness, and transportation services, symbolizing unity, perseverance, and progress across the Navajo Nation.

President Nygren honored Navajo veterans in Oak Springs, celebrating their service and highlighting completed homes, disability assistance, expanded mental-health support, and strengthened veterans programs. November was also proclaimed Navajo “Purple Heart Month.”

President Nygren celebrated the hard work and heart of hundreds of runners at the NM State Cross Country Championships, praising Navajo and Native athletes for their resilience and dedication. He highlighted running as a reflection of Diné strength, endurance, and tradition.

On this Veterans Day, we honor all who served—especially our Navajo warriors whose courage, sacrifice, and unbreakable spirit uphold our traditions. From the Code Talkers to today’s servicemembers, the Diné people continue to defend freedom and our way of life.

Navajo Nation and NAPI distributed food to 433 families in Teec Nos Pos, providing potatoes, beans, and corn through a USDA grant. President Nygren emphasized food sovereignty as SNAP funding remains uncertain, with more distributions planned this week.

President Nygren signed four new laws to strengthen housing, veterans’ services, and infrastructure across the Navajo Nation. The measures extend HUD housing waivers, support a new complex in Navajo, NM, enhance veterans programs, and improve airport safety.

On November 10, we celebrate 250 years of the U.S. Marine Corps and honor Navajo Marines whose courage, sacrifice, and unbreakable WWII code define our warrior tradition. Ahéhee’ to all Marines—past, present, and future. Semper Fidelis.

President Nygren and UNM leaders signed a partnership to create a real-time data portal improving transportation safety, planning, and transparency across the Navajo Nation. The project aims to modernize infrastructure and strengthen community connections by mid-2026.
