RE: Unanimous Passage of Continuing Resolution for the Navajo Nation for Part of Fiscal Year 2025, Beginning October 1, 2024 and Not to Exceed March 31, 2025.
Dear Honorable Delegates of the 25th Navajo Nation Council,
I acknowledge the Honorable Council’s swift action in unanimously passing a continuing resolution. My office is now reviewing the version of the continuing resolution that is online as we await the certified version.
It is reassuring to see that the urgency I conveyed in my Presidential Message is being met with the necessary attention. Legislation 0206-24 appears to address the concerns I raised within my Presidential Message including potential furloughs, layoffs, and a government shutdown. It also appears the general wage adjustment is also being addressed in the continuing resolution as this was another key issue outlined in my Presidential message; this recognizes the hard work of our employees.
Once I receive a certified version, I will take appropriate action after thoroughly analyzing the certified resolution.
