WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. – On Tue., Jun. 11, President Nygren looked at each student and said when he took office, he thought of them, the children.
“You are more than capable,” said President Nygren as he told each student to repeat the phrase. “You all are more than capable; I believe in you. Your parents, family, teachers, they all believe you. You all will do amazing things.”
President Nygren thanked the teachers and school faculty for nurturing the students and especially trying to teach the Navajo language to them.
The students attentively listened, laughed, and hugged President Nygren as he shared his favorite elementary school books and why he was proud of each student who visited him.
“My motto is ‘Yideeskaadi Nitshakes,’ meaning thinking for the future,” said President Nygren. “And that’s each of you. I know you will grow up and do great things, making it my day to sit here and talk with you all. Just know you made my day today, and I believe in you.”
