“You guys made it here today with the support of your families, teachers, mentors, and friends,” said President Nygren. “Grandparents, aunts, uncles, mom, dad, all of Ganado, all believed in you to help to achieve a critical milestone in your life.”

Just a couple hours before sitting amongst the graduates in Hornet country, President Nygren signed historical legislation as a step towards water sovereignty.

President Nygren wanted to demonstrate not just to the entire country but to the young Díné who are getting ready to take their next step in life.

President Nygren reinforced to each student this is just the beginning of so many opportunities. He encouraged them to broaden their interests, make lifelong friends, and look inward to the power within.

“Remember where you come from, wherever your path leads. Be proud to be Díné, to be Hornet,” said President Nygren. “You have so much to offer this world. Make sure you bring it home and inspire others.”
