The Navajo Nation has enacted Stage 2 Fire Restrictions as wildfire danger reaches critical levels. President Buu Nygren’s executive order immediately bans open burning, fireworks, outdoor wood and charcoal fires, and limits the use of chainsaws and welding equipment. Officials say the restrictions are necessary to protect lives, homes, and natural resources until fire conditions improve.
