On May 16, Pine Hill High School celebrated 11 graduating seniors, a proud moment for the Pine Hill community.

Among great speakers, I also had the honor of speaking to the graduating Class of 2025. These 11 students come from a small school, but that doesn’t stop them.

They are proof that greatness can come from remote areas. They have shown dedication and strength by taking bold steps to stand where they are today.

The valedictorian was Layla Johnson, and the salutatorian was Rihanna Pino, who both shared an impactful speech that acknowledged their loved ones and peers.

Class of 2025 Pine Hill Warriors:

  • Layla Johnson
  • Rihanna Pino
  • Xavier Alonzo
  • Leilani Charley
  • Tishinnia Hunt
  • Rydell Jake Jr. III
  • Channing James
  • Amariah Martine
  • Octavious Nelson
  • Lovely Pino
  • Leila Todakonzie

Multiple scholarships were awarded to a selection of these hardworking students like the Achievement Scholarship Award, Merit Scholarship Award, COGNIA Scholarship, Ramah Navajo Scholarships, and OSO Internet Scholarships. Each scholarship will be used to help pay for college costs of attendance.

These major accomplishments serve as a reminder that the students of Pine Hill represent generations of community that came before them and the generation that will come after them.

Upon their own recognition, the graduates took a moment to recognize their parents and loved ones by gifting a rose as a token of appreciation for their continued support. It was a cherished moment for our students.

It is such an honor to witness these moments and to celebrate our future leaders. I am confident that they will continue to make us proud no matter what they decide to pursue.

Thank you, Pine Hill Schools, for providing our students with guidance and education, and to all our parents and families, thank you for all the sacrifices you made in supporting our students.

Be bold, be courageous and be your best. Congratulations Pine Hill Warriors!
