Housing begins with opportunity, and opportunity begins with a homesite lease.
When President Nygren took office, approximately 400 homesite leases were approved annually. By 2025, that number had grown to 2,231 approved homesite leases, marking a historic increase and reflecting a continued commitment to expanding housing opportunities for Navajo families.
“This is about more than numbers. It’s about making sure our families have a place to call home, where they can build, grow, and carry forward our way of life. We are cutting through barriers, delivering real results, and restoring opportunity for our people, one homesite at a time,” said President Buu Nygren.
Through streamlined processes and improved coordination, the Nygren Administration continues to deliver measurable progress where it matters most, helping more Navajo families move one step closer to establishing a place to call home.
