Our hearts are with the families and loved ones affected by the ongoing recovery efforts at Wheatfields Lake. During times of uncertainty and loss, we lift up those impacted in our thoughts and prayers and hope they find strength and comfort in the support of their families, friends, and communities.
We extend our gratitude to the New Mexico State Police Dive Team, Navajo Nation Fish and Wildlife, Apache County Sheriff’s Office, Navajo Police Department, and all personnel who have dedicated their time and expertise to these efforts. Their commitment to serving others under difficult conditions is deeply appreciated.
As recovery operations continue, we ask community members and visitors to respect the guidance provided by public safety officials and avoid restricted areas around Wheatfields Lake. This will help ensure the safety of the public and allow search and recovery teams to carry out their work as effectively as possible.
