TUBA CITY, Ariz. — Navajo livestock producers gathered at the Tuba City Fairgrounds on June 24 for the Western Navajo Wool and Mohair Buy, an event that provides sheep and goat producers with an opportunity to market and sell their wool and mohair while supporting the region’s agricultural economy.
The Navajo Division for Children and Family Services (NDCFS) partnered with Western Community Representatives to provide water and fresh fruit to producers waiting in line, helping ensure a welcoming and comfortable experience for participants.
Producers were reminded to bring a valid identification card and Social Security card to complete transactions.
Payments will be issued through Building Nations LLC or the Farm Service Agency for eligible participants and are expected to be processed within 30 days.
The event highlights the continued importance of sheep ranching, wool production, and agricultural traditions across the Navajo Nation.
