THOREAU, N.M. – Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren recently visited a fully furnished CHID home in Thoreau, meeting with residents and housing staff to see firsthand the progress being made through the Navajo Nation’s housing initiatives.
During the visit, President Nygren toured the home and spoke about the importance of creating safe, stable, and livable spaces for Navajo families. The home reflects continued efforts to improve housing opportunities and strengthen communities across the Navajo Nation.
President Nygren emphasized that housing remains one of the administration’s highest priorities, especially for families who have waited years for reliable housing and basic infrastructure.
“These homes represent more than shelter,” President Nygren said. “They represent stability, dignity, and opportunity for our Navajo people.”
The visit also highlighted the collaborative work taking place between housing officials, program staff, and community partners to help deliver homes and improve living conditions for families throughout the Navajo Nation.
President Nygren extends appreciation to the CHID program staff, housing teams, and families who continue working together to build stronger Navajo communities.
