WINDOW ROCK — The Navajo Nation is proud to welcome families, visitors, rodeo fans, and professional competitors to the 2026 Home of the Navajo PRCA Rodeo, Carnival, and Western Dance taking place May 29–31 at the Dean C. Jackson Memorial Arena in Window Rock, Arizona.

“The Navajo Nation continues to show that we can host world-class events while honoring our culture, traditions, and hospitality,” President Nygren said. “We invite everyone to come out, support our contestants, enjoy the carnival atmosphere, and celebrate the pride and excitement of rodeo on the Navajo Nation.”

This year’s event marks a major milestone for the Navajo Nation as the Home of the Navajo PRCA Rodeo has officially been selected as one of only ten qualifying rodeos for the 2026 Cheyenne Frontier Days — one of the most prestigious rodeos in the world, widely known as the “Daddy of ’em All.”

The designation places Window Rock and the Navajo Nation on one of professional rodeo’s biggest stages and recognizes the continued growth, professionalism, and national reputation of the event.

“The Home of the Navajo Rodeo represents more than competition,” said President Nygren. “It reflects our western heritage, our ranching traditions, our Navajo cowboys and cowgirls, and the strong community spirit that brings families together from across Navajo and beyond.”

The multi-day celebration will feature PRCA rodeo performances, carnival rides, food vendors, team roping and breakaway clinics, western dances, and marketplace vendors. Top PRCA athletes from across the country are expected to compete for qualifying points toward Cheyenne Frontier Days, bringing elite rodeo action to Navajo Nation fairgrounds.

President Nygren also recognized the Navajo Nation Division of Natural Resources, the Navajo Nation Fair Office, sponsors, volunteers, and rodeo committee members for their continued work in elevating the event each year.
