TUBA CITY – More than 160 graduates crossed the stage Saturday morning at the Tuba City High School Pavilion as the Tuba City High School Class of 2026 celebrated a milestone filled with pride, culture, and achievement.

The graduating class included 34 students from the Nizhoni Accelerated Academy, the school’s alternative education program, reflecting the perseverance and determination of students from all paths and backgrounds. The ceremony opened with a powerful welcome delivered in six languages — English, Navajo, Hopi, Lakota, Spanish, and Filipino — honoring the rich diversity and cultural identity of the community.

Navajo Nation President Nygren joined school leadership on stage to personally hand diplomas to graduates as families, relatives, educators, and supporters filled the pavilion in celebration of the students’ accomplishments. The Class of 2026 embraced the motto, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” — Dr. Seuss.

The ceremony served as a strong reflection of the bright future ahead for Navajo youth and the continued importance of preserving language, culture, and identity for future generations. From emotional embraces to proud cheers throughout the pavilion, the morning highlighted the strength, resilience, and unity of the Warrior community.

President Nygren congratulated the graduates and wished them continued success as they move forward into the next chapter of their journeys.

Go Warriors!
