WINDOW ROCK – Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren accepted the approval of Attachment H to the Intergovernmental Agreement between the Navajo Nation and Navajo County, Arizona, supporting the purchase of gravel material and Ultra Patch Material (UPM) for the N41 Road Project within the Forest Lake Chapter.

The agreement strengthens coordination between the Navajo Nation Division of Transportation and Navajo County to improve road conditions and transportation access for Navajo communities. Navajo County will utilize District I Special Project Road Funds, including approximately $40,000 for the purchase of sand, gravel material, and Ultra Patch Material (UPM), while Navajo DOT will identify, prioritize, schedule, and perform maintenance activities associated with the project.

The N41 Road Project will help improve roadway conditions, support safer travel, and strengthen year round accessibility for residents who rely on the route daily.

“Reliable roads are important for our communities, emergency services, school transportation, and local families,” President Nygren said. “This partnership helps move infrastructure improvements forward while supporting safer and more dependable road access for the Navajo people.”
