TSE BONITO, N.M. — The Navajo Nation Division of Transportation (NDOT) is raising awareness about child passenger safety after learning that motor vehicle accidents remain the second-leading cause of death for children in the United States.
In response, NDOT is offering free car seat check-ups every Friday at its office in Tse Bonito. The program is designed to help families ensure their children are traveling safely and that car seats are installed correctly.
Check-up Hours will be:
- 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
During these check-ups, families will receive one-on-one assistance from trained staff on the correct installation of their child’s car seat.
NDOT also provides free car seats to families in need. However, due to low inventory, distribution is expected to resume around late March or April, while supplies last.
By taking a few minutes to check a car seat, families can make a life-saving difference. Protect your child. Check your seats.
