I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Shiprock and surrounding communities for welcoming the People’s State of the Nation 2026 with generosity, pride, and a powerful spirit of community. Hosting this important gathering in the Northern Agency was deeply meaningful, and I am sincerely thankful for the hospitality shown to all who attended.
Many may not know the significance of moving this event across the Navajo Nation. By hosting it in different regions, we honor all four sacred directions—beginning in the Fort Defiance Agency, then the Western Agency, and now the Northern Agency. Each location brings its own spirit and energy, reflecting the diversity and strength of our Nation.
I offer my deepest appreciation to the Department of Public Safety for their professionalism and dedication in ensuring a safe, well-coordinated event. My thanks also go to the Central Consolidated School District for their partnership and for welcoming us into Shiprock High School. Your support was essential to making this gathering possible.
To the many volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, your long hours, preparation, and commitment made everything run seamlessly.
I also extend gratitude to our generous sponsors, whose support helped make this event accessible and welcoming for all our people.
Most importantly, I thank each of you who attended, in person or virtually. Your presence, engagement, and encouragement are what give true meaning to the People’s State of the Nation. Whether you listened by radio, tuned in through livestream, or watched the broadcast, you were part of a shared moment that unites our Nation.
This gathering was for the people. Bringing government services and resources directly to our communities ensures every voice is heard, every family has access to support, and every person feels connected to the future we are building together. I am grateful for your voices, your support, and your belief in our shared future.
Together, we will continue moving the Navajo Nation forward—with unity, purpose, and hope.
