Due to hazardous winter weather and changing road conditions across parts of the Navajo Nation, Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren urges everyone to use extreme caution while traveling.

The Navajo Police Department and Navajo Division of Transportation are receiving multiple reports of vehicle slide-offs caused by snow and icy roads. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, increase following distance, avoid sudden braking or sharp turns, and delay travel if conditions allow.

Snow is accumulating in several areas, and road crews are actively working priority routes. Conditions may worsen into the evening, and road surfaces can change quickly.

The safety of the Navajo people remains the top priority. Please remain alert, patient, and prepared while traveling.
