WINDOW ROCK— Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren joined families and community members on December 9 for a beautiful Christmas Tree Lighting at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
The moment the tree lit up, the park glowed—its lights shimmering against the cold night air as children cheered and families gathered close.
President Nygren was grateful for the strong turnout and the joy shared throughout the Christmas Parade, especially as little ones received toys and winter jackets to keep them warm this season.
He shared a brief message with the crowd, reminding everyone:
“This season brings out the best in us—our generosity, our love for family, our goodwill toward one another, and the traditions that keep our communities strong.”
Special thanks to the sponsors who made the celebration possible:
- Navajo Nation
- Division for Children and Family Services and Executive Director Thomas Cody for donating winter jackets
- Window Rock Police Department, providing toys through Toys for Tots
A heartwarming night that truly lit up Window Rock. ![]()
