Alva R. Tom has a wealth of experience in finance including serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the Gallup Indian Medical Center, as an Accounting Supervisor for the Navajo Nation Office of the Controller, and most recently, as a Budget Officer with Navajo Nation Office of Management and Budget.
Tom served as the Indian Self Determination Director for the Navajo Area Indian Health Service in St. Michaels, AZ and as the Health System Administrator for the Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, NM.
“Alva R. Tom has the education, background and experience we need to keep the Navajo Nation moving forward,” said President Nygren. Tom is an alumna of New Mexico Highlands University and Navajo Technical University.
