ANETH, Utah – Following the recent site visit to Aneth, Utah, on September 15, 2025, the Navajo Department of Emergency Management (NDEM), with help from partners such as the Office of the President and Vice President, Navajo Housing Authority, American Red Cross, Utah Commission on Emergency Management, and local leaders, confirmed that a tornado on September 13 caused significant damage.
Families have since lost homes, livestock structures, and essential equipment. No injuries have been reported, but families remain on their properties, salvaging what they can.
Immediate relief efforts are underway, and an emergency declaration is currently being reviewed by the Commission on Emergency Management, which may open the pathway for FEMA Individual Assistance.
Donations of plywood, lumber, window replacements, building materials, prepared food, wheelbarrows, horse trailers, cattle squeezers, dog houses, and dog food are needed.
Donations can be delivered to the Aneth Chapter House warehouse; the point of contact is the Aneth Chapter House at (505) 436-8225.
Families currently do not have a GoFundMe account; they are accepting item donations only. This information will be updated if circumstances change.
NDEM and its partners will continue providing support and collaborating with agencies to ensure aid reaches those most in need.
