WINDOW ROCK — The Cody Jesus Fan Appreciation Invitational Bull Riding kicked off on Monday, September 1. It brought a packed crowd to the Navajo Nation Fairgrounds, where excitement, courage, and community spirit came together in celebration of PBR bull rider, Cody Jesus.
From the opening introductions of the bull riders to the final ride of the night, the invitational showcased some of the best bull riders in the sport. Each rider matched strength against the power of the bulls, while the crowd cheered and encouraged, honoring the grit and determination that define rodeo culture.
Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren showed support for Cody Jesus and the bull riding community. He praised Cody not only for his accomplishments on the national circuit but for his example as a role model to Navajo youth.
“When Cody rides, he carries all of us with him,” President Nygren said. “This invitational is proof that our people belong in the spotlight, competing with the best, and inspiring the next generation to dream big.”
The invitational also highlighted the importance of community support in helping young athletes rise to the top, inspiring dreams of being a future professional rodeo athlete.
For many in attendance, the event served as both entertainment and inspiration, reminding everyone that discipline and heart are the true marks of champions.
President Nygren was proud to support the 2025 Cody Jesus Invitational Bull Riding event, especially after being postponed due to the Oak Ridge Fire earlier this summer. The rescheduled rodeo event became a powerful celebration of community resilience and recovery.
