We’ve recently been blessed with rain across Diné Bikéyah, a gift that carries deep meaning for our people. I was especially honored to receive this blessing following the Apache Crown Dances I saw, a moment that reminded me of the power of prayer, tradition and resilience.

In the midst of extreme heat and ongoing drought, this rain has brought much needed relief to our land, our people, our livestock and our crops. For our ranchers and farmers, and for all of us as Diné, every drop is a reminder that we are not forgotten.

To hear that all fires across the Navajo Nation are now fully contained is a blessing we do not take lightly. But our prayers continue as neighboring communities are still facing active wildfires.

Let us stand together in prayer. May the rain continue to fall where it’s needed most, and may our communities stay protected and strong.

Ahéhee’ to all the firefighters, first responders, and prayer warriors who helped protect our Nation. May the healing continue.
