WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. — “I just wanted to say good morning, to all these little leaders, these little bosses. You made it to school,” Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren told students and their teachers. “My name is Buu Nygren, Navajo Nation president.”
Today, President Nygren visited the Window Rock Head Start to meet Miss Francis, Miss Milford and Miss Chee’s classes who made a hand painted U.S. flag for him for Presidents’ Day. It now hangs in the hallway of the Office of the President and Vice President.
The sharply and brightly dressed children were excited to meet their new president with shouts of “Hi Buu Nygren!” Some introduced themselves by clan.
Another student told him, “I just now seen you at inauguration.”
The president also thanked the teachers and their aides for showing up today in one of the toughest snowstorms of the season. Then it was time for pictures.
