Proclamation
IN HONOR AND RECOGNITION OF FORMER COUNCIL DELEGATE AND BAHASTLAH CHAPTER PRESIDENT NORMAN JOHN II.
WHEREAS, the Navajo Nation is greatly saddened by the passing of Honorable Norman John II; and
WHEREAS, Honorable Norman John II served the Navajo People and the great Navajo Nation as a former member of the 19th, 20th and 21st Navajo Nation Council representing Twin Lakes and Mexican Springs Chapters; and
WHEREAS, Honorable Norman John II served his community of Bahastłah Chapter in various leadership positions such as Grazing Official, Chooshgai Community School Board Member, and Bahastłah Chapter President; and
WHEREAS, the Navajo Nation honors Honorable Norman John II for his dedicated service and contributions to the Navajo Nation; and
WHEREAS, the Navajo Nation offers its prayers and condolences to his family, friends and community during this period of grief.
NOW THEREFORE, I, BUU NYGREN, President of the Navajo Nation, do here by proclaim that all flags on the Navajo Nation shall be flown at half-staff January 25, 2023, to honor the memory and service of the Honorable Norman John II.
